"MPSC
Swimming is more
than a sport of the individual.
It is the challenge of character,
the strength of spirit

Coach
Liz Campbell
Head Coach.
Coaches groups III, IV and V. Coach Liz began her
own swim career at 9 years of age. At the age of
10 she began swimming year round with the Bolles
Sharks, one of the best swim teams in the nation
with nationally recognized coaches and swimmers.
Throughout her days at Bolles, Coach Liz focused
on distance swimming though eventually her 200 butterfly
became her best event. At 14 she made her first
Junior National cut in the 200 fly and went on to
qualify in the 200, 500, 1000, and 1650 freestyle,
as well as the 100 fly and 400 IM. At 17 she made
her first National qualifying time in the 200 fly
and went on to compete at Nationals in Long Island,
Minneapolis, and Seattle. Coach Liz picked up her
Olympic Trial qualifying time and was able to compete
in Indianapolis in 2000. After graduating from Bolles,
Coach Liz went on to swim at the University of Connecticut
where she was named Team Captain her senior year,
and graduated in the spring of 2004. She was an
assistant coach for the 2005 and 2006 SC Zones Team.
Coach Liz has recently vaulted MPSC to top five
status in the state and expects MPSC to move
up even higher.

Coach
Doug Fetchen
Assistant Senior Group Coach.
Before joining MPSC in January 2005, Coach Doug
was the Head Coach of the Summerville YMCA year-round
swim team. He has been an assistant coach for
both the Goose Creek and Wando High School swim
teams the past 6 years. Coach Doug was an assistant
coach for the SC Zones Team in 2005, and was named
the SC Zone Team Head Coach in 2007. He has coached
USA swim teams for the past 4 years and is Level
II ASCA certified. In 2007, Coach Doug was instrumental
in leading Wando High School of Mount
Pleasant, SC to state swim championships
for both the men's and women's teams. This
was historical, as no South Carolina high school
had ever won state championships in both men's
and women's swimming in the same year! Coach
Doug is a graduate of Ohio State University.
