Committees
Communication
Committee
- is responsible for keeping the Association informed
concerning the business and activities of the
club. The Communication Committee is chaired by
the Secretary and would include managing the web
site, written communications through the bulletin
boards and folders, and phone tree messages for
faster and confirmed communication.
Fundraising
Committee - is responsible for securing
other people’s money through organized fund
raisers. These fund raisers can take the form
of “Swim-a-Thons”, advertisement sales,
program sales, sponsorship solicitation and any
other creative fund raising functions deemed appropriate
by the board. The Committee Chair must be willing
to ask for help throughout the community and be
willing to solicit the help and support of members
of the MPSC Parents Association and others outside
of the Association. The Treasurer is a voting
member of this committee.
Meet
Committee - is chaired by the Meet Directors
(typically a couple) and is responsible for executing
the one or two meets per year hosted by MPSC.
The Meet directors will chair the committee that
includes an officials chair person, concessions
chair person, and head timer. This position and
committee is event specific and event organized.
Welcoming
Committee - is responsible for promoting
and propagating good morale on the swim club.
Duties of the committee include welcoming new
club members, establishing bonding programs such
as “secret swimmer”, and establishing
swimmer reward programs such as participation
awards, time achievement awards and goal achievement
awards. This committee requires at least one person
for each age group and should be filled by someone
who has at least a year of MPSC experience.
Aquatics Facility Committee -
(Chairman: Mike Lierley) is responsible for for
gathering all information necessary to determine
the needs of the community at large related to
such a facility, any and all possible amenities
related to such a facility, and determine approximate
costs and potential revenues. To work with the
town of Mount Pleasant as a partnership in the
endeavor.
