Long Course State Meet... (7/26 - 7/29/07)
    Congratulations to the MPSC state team for their great swims! Out of 27 MPSC state team swimmers, MPSC had 16 1st place finishes (Jon and Zach Lierley), 40 top 5 finishes (Laura Brotherton, Haylee Hanling, Gracie Herlong, Jon Lierley, Zach Lierley, Megan Lowry, Peter Lowry, Danielle Morrin, Chase Muller, and Molly Stanton), and 91 top 10 finishes.
   Also, Congratulations to Zach Lierley who broke a 25 year old state record in the 200 Breast with a time of 2:45.70. His brother, Jonathan Lierley, also became the 3rd member of the team to earn a Top 16 time. Other swims to note...Kelly Brannigan earned her first AA time for the 10 and Under age group, and Allie Buechele earned her first AA time in the 11-12 age group.

USA Swimming Top Times and MPSCers... (as of 7/26/07)
    USA Swimming tracks the top 25 swimmers in the nation for each age group and event through the course of a season. At the end of each year, they will generate a list of the top 16 swims in each age group for different events. The Top 16 Times standards are then based off of these lists.
     As of July 26th (not including the Short Course State Meet), Will Clark and Zack Lierley can be found in the lastest national Top 25 rankings. For the 15-16 age group, Will Clark is ranked 21st in the 400 free, 19th in the 1500 Free, 24th in the 100 Back, 23rd in the 200 Back, 22nd in the 200 IM, and 21st in the 400IM. Not including his swims from the SC state meet, Zach is ranked 16th in the 200 Breast and 8th in the 400 IM. You may find these rankings on the times standards page of the USA Swimming website, as there are other swimmers who are on the verge of breaking into the top 25.
